Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I am so very excited about our first “Bible Discovery Zone” 4-week rotation! Since this is a brand new ministry, I felt it was only fitting to begin with studying “Creation”! Beginning Sunday, January 11, your children will be learning about God’s Creation and what this concept means to them in their lives. The children will learn the following concepts over the next month (list not all inclusive):

* “Genesis” means “beginning” and is the first book in the Bible and includes many stories, including the creation story.
* God was there first
* God created all the things in the world.
* be able to recite what was created on Days 1-7
* be able to repeat the memory verse (Psalms 24:1)

In keeping with the Children’s Ministry Mission Statement I look forward to partnering with you to provide the biblical knowledge and skills our children need to succeed in today’s world.

I would encourage you to “explore” God’s world with your child over the next four weeks. Take the time to point out all of God’s creations and quiz your child by asking what day God made that object. Please refer to Genesis 1:1 – 2:3.

In addition, please work with your child to memorize our Creation memory verse:

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” Psalm 24:1

As I’m sure your children will tell you, we will have a “General Store” that will be open for business at several points during the year. Children will earn tickets which can be redeemed for very “cool” prizes at the General Store! The following are ways in which your child can earn tickets:

* Bringing his/her Bible to Bible Discovery
* Reciting the rotation’s Bible memory verse for their teacher
* Bringing a friend to Bible Discovery

Please encourage your child to take part in the above activities in order to enhance their learning and overall experience in Bible Discovery Zone classes.

In Christ,

Sarah Myers
