At the M.B.C. School of Karate, the style we teach is Isshin-ryu. Isshin-ryu is an Okinawan martial art developed in 1954 by Tatsuo Shimabuku.

Our classes are structured in a traditional manner. Students are taught Kata (pre-arranged forms), sparring, self-defense, body conditioning and two-man drills. Our school emphasis is toward street applications. However, the traditional aspects of Karate are also taught, such as self-confidence, respect and physical fitness.

Master Harold Nuchols, Hachi-Dan (8th degree Black Belt), is the head instructor of the M.B.C. School of Karate.

Our dojo (school) is located at Cades Cove Baptist Fellowship. Which is located at 2342 Duncan rd. Maryville, TN 37803.

Class times: Monday nights at 6:30pm-9:00pm and Thursday nights at 6:30pm-8:30pm

Cost of instruction: FREE

Students are responsible for cost of personal safety equipment and all other required equipment.

We do ask that students must be no younger than 13 years of age. This is due to the physical demands and content of instruction.

No prior martial arts experience is required and visitors are welcome to observe classes. We do ask that you be polite, courteous and not disrupt classes. An instructor will be glad to answer any questions you may have.
